Over 443,000 Americans (over 18 percent of all deaths) die because of smoking each year. Secondhand smoke kills about 50,000 of them.

Yes, that is much more than how many people die from dog allergies.. I'm not sure what you're trying to prove, that smoking isn't bad and that bringing dogs anywhere is totally unacceptable . I can't find anything on deaths from allergies from dogs, but I'm sure there are a few. I'm not even sure how we got on the topic of deaths. I was on a Delta flight in October, and we got peanuts and pretzels!

I still believe it's ok to take small dogs places without food, but anywhere else isn't acceptable. Also, I don't think it is ok to take an aggressive, loud, or dog that isn't house trained. Just my opinion, of course.
