Yes, some people are allergic but there are also people that are severely allergic to things like perfume, smoke and certain fabrics, so I don't think there is a clear dividing line. I think sometimes it is unfair to large dog owners 9although it is their choice to own these breeds) because they are less welcomed in stores like JoAnns and shoe stores, etc. Most people probably wouldn't appreciate a big dog getting hair all over them or pulling away from their owner and sniffing...
