I'm graduating next year and I have two Yorkies. To be honest, my grades have suffered because of them (don't tell my parents!
). It is much harder to study when they're around because Franklin is constantly getting into trouble so I have to watch him like a hawk. They also take up a lot more time. We go on walks every day and we go to the dog park when we can so I have less time overall. When I leave to go study elsewhere, I feel guilty for leaving them home alone.
That being said, I wouldn't trade them for the world! I think anyone that says having dogs wasn't more responsibility and made their life harder would be lying. However, to me, it doesn't matter because they are completely and totally worth it.
In all
practicality, if I could have done it again, I would have waited. BUT in
reality, I love them so incredibly much and they have brought me so much joy and I feel so blessed that they are in my life.
