The artical on cleft was awesome...thank you so much...Yes my little pup has a hair lip and a partial cleft.....it is missing a small portion by the gum line...the only time I see milk coming out of the nose is if she chokes.....she is feeding so much better now that is gives me some hope although she does have her moments...like she will start chivering, don't know if it is because she lost body heat to fast or is something else is going on....but she is very active and is gaining weight every day and improving on her eating habits....she takes about 1 tablespoon (sometimes less) about every three hours....it has helped to burp her ...because of the cleft lip she doesn't have the suction, she can't wrap her lips around the bottle....I have tried to syringe feed her but it seems to make her choke and gulp more air so I have gone back to the bottle...I do have to sqeeze the bottle to make the milk flow so it has been trial and error on the right pressure of the bottle so she doesn't choke....I just want to say thanks for all the concern and advice. I am so glad I found this web site, it has been sooooo helpful....thank you to everyone for all your comments and concern.....now I need a name for this little one....something that fits her to a T...any help with this????
