thanks everyone for your advice! the trip went very very very well
riley did super duper good! i on the way to atlanta he was kind of fussy because he didn't know what was going on but then he went to sleep! then from atlanta to california he slept half the time and then woke up and i took him to go potty on his pad in the little tiny airplane bathroom and he ended up going hahaha
on the way back i ended up just taking him out of his carrier and putting him in my lap under a blanket because i figured out that he was fussy because we couldnt give him any attention under the seat haha. no one said anything and the other people on the plane said he did very good. the stewardess even gave us water for him when they served drinks. the only thing i had to do was take him into the family restroom instead of the ones where everyone goes into because he got distracted and couldnt concentrate. he had so much fun in cali and made a lot of new puppy friends too
