That's kinda like my story. It was near hubby's birthday last year and I asked him what he wanted... he thought about it then told me he wanted a dog. I reminded him that we could get a big dog (his favorite breed is a german shepard) and he said "yea I know". So I asked him what breed did he have in mind, thinking he might say some sort of a beagle, cocker spaniel... something... then he said "I want a yorkie." My exact reaction: "You want a WHAT?!" Due to misconceptions I thought they were all little 2 lb, frail fru fru dogs and I was used to have shar peis and goldens. I was trying to talk him into ANY breed BUT a yorkie. When I saw Chip though, I melted and I couldn't have loved him more. Then we got Smokey. Both of them are more of MY dogs too.
