I don't know how that works as far as breeding.. I am not sure if it is considered a business. I have a home based business and the only people I charge taxes to are the sales made in the state I live in. If I travel to another state (to do a bear show) and I sell in that state, I have to get a temperary permit and charge sales tax for that state and pay that tax to that state within a certain period of time after the show. So i would assume that if someone sold in thier own state, they would have to charge and pay taxes on that income. If they sell over the internet and to someone in another state, they do not have to collect or pay those taxes.
But one of the conditions (at least as far as California goes) is that they have to ship the "item" out of state. They cannot have the person come to California and pick it up or they do have to charge taxes. |
