I agree with the others, she's probably teething; I just wanted to add that most Yorkies retain a few baby teeth and have to have them pulled. This is usually done when they are neutered or spayed. It's important to have it done before permanent teeth come in, otherwise a double row of teeth can cause decay, as well as misalignment of permanent teeth, leading to future dental problems. Yorkies are prone to dental problems, and it's important to get them use to tooth brushing. Many of us use a tartar preventative such a Petzlife once they have their permanent teeth. Brushing twice a week and using Petzlife twice a week seems to be keeping Joey's teeth clear of tartar. |
