Let me see if I have this right, you're gone 5 days a week for 12 hours, does Teddy go with you, or do you leave him at home(sounded like you take him with you). If not, I wouldn't suggest a crate, as you don't want to leave a puppy in a tiny crate for 12 hours straight, I would suggest an xpen. If you're taking Teddy with you and Tami is there, humping is trying to show dominance. Are they pretty close to the same size? If so, I wouldn't worry about one hurting the other. I had a brother and sister(I was holding on to the boy for my son until his xpen came) and they fought all the time. I think it was more playing than actually fighting. After a few mos. my son and his fiance begged me for my little girl so the brother and sister could be together, and its worked out fantastic, they never fight anymore. You have to catch him when he's pooping and tell him No, then tell him you poop on the pad, then take him to the pad, if he finishes up on it, praise the heck out of him. I never put my dogs noses in the poop, but, I always did put it down by it, but, only when I would catch them pooping in places other than the pee pad. Kids need to be taught at a very young age to respect puppies, my g-kids were around my dogs from day one, and never once have ever been mean to them, even at a year old my g-daughter would sit and let the dogs lick her mouth. As far as stepping on them, I have a 6 mo old that is not even 2 lbs and hubby and I are always watching where we walk, as one accidental kick across the room could kill her, you have to learn to watch every step you take, as they're usually always under foot |
