Default barking at the doorbell

We just celebrated GraySee's 1 year birthday, and she is doing well. For POTTY, she has a signal: she jumps to the side, and emits a little "Ruff" each time she needs to go out. However, left alone in a bedroom, which has CARPET, she often backslides and pees/poops right there. It must be the soft, comfortable feel of the carpet! Anyway, I haven't been able to break her of barking when someone comes to the door. Has anyone else any suggestions for breaking her of this, short of taking her to "Obedience School"?
