It's just a dog thing. My thought is that it's part of the pack mentality. Grab as much from the kill as you can and go eat it someplace safe were it won't be stolen from you. All of mine do it. It's really funny to watch, if one lingers a bit too long at the dish, one of the other two will bark and remind the offending dog to get a bite and move on, there are others that need to eat too.
What makes it even funnier is that there are 2 bowls of food out and when one starts to eat out of one bowl they all feel the need to eat out of only that bowl. And I don't know how Yogi puts on any weight, he'll get one piece of kibble and walk around in circles until he's eaten it, then he goes back for another piece.
