#3; we don't have anything fancy, just plain doggy pillows in each room so that they have something soft to lay. The couch is Boo's favorite place during the day and everyone sleeps in bed with us at night. If you don't want to use a crate you may want to look into a playpen or ex-pen. It is
really great to have someplace that is safe and secure to put them when you need to. When you bring in the groceries, want to take a shower, etc...
