From what I understand, most dogs like poop, especially cat poop. It's one of those habits you hope never starts, because it can be very hard to stop. One of my friends pointed out that from the dog's point of view, it's like candy falls out of their butts.
I'd recommend training the "leave it" command really, REALLY well.... Also, maybe you could try sound aversion, canned air, or a spray bottle with ice water. Something unpleasant enough that the dog gets permanently turned off the temptation. |
