This is a real tough one because she is quite small, but the vet should be able to determine by the x-rays if the puppies look too big already. I just don't like the idea of scheduling a c-section. A c-section is NEVER desirable if it can be prevented. You might want to have him x-ray her again as she gets closer. If they still don't look too big to deliver, she may probably be fine. It seems they never go in heat at the right time to prevent delivering on a holiday or a weekend. She may go later than you expect as well. another x-ray before Christmas eve would be a whole lot cheaper than travelling to an emergency vet. and it will give you peace of mind to know if it still looks like she can whelp naturally. You do need to prepare to travel on Christmas tho just in case.
