We've got 3 Yorkies. Boo, 6 yrs, Gracie Ruth, 11 months & Yogi, 4 months. All are very talkie, they yammer & yodel & barrooo at us all the time. They carry on the greatest conversations. But it's at a level like normal talking. When they get to play fighting they sound like the whining of dirt bikes.

It's very cute! However, there is no way anyone is getting into this house without our knowing it. G & Yogi will bark up a storm if someone comes to the door. And it's a bark, no yappers in this bunch. They are both still young and we are working to get them to understand that once they alert and Momma or Daddy come to investigate then they must be quiet. Their youthful excitement does sometimes get the better of them, but they have such a heart to please that they do try hard to not bark after being told "That's enough"
So no Yap Fest, just honest barking when there is a reason and they are learning that even that has limits. It's all in how you handle it and train them.
