I did contact the shelter a few days after my older son came home and verified that she was in heat, and spoke to the director or person in charge and he told me that he would look into the situation but since we had an intact male in the house we were partly responsible
and that if we brought the dog back to the shelter they would be glad to refund our $100.00 adoption fee..
Are you kidding I told him, we already LOVE her and we will keep her and the babies, all we wanted was for you to know and ask if you would help with the expenses of having her spayed, and he said NO
.
so we will pay for everything, and we WILL NEVER deal with that specific shelter again.
