I of course would do it outside on the porch, or the driveway, or whereever you're able to--I know it's cold out there, so you may not have many options (maybe in the garage even?).....maybe that would have the effect you're looking for BUT also keep Ellie away from those chemicals. I bet the big dog is scratching from bites just like you said....and the eggs that are on it should be dead if you treated him with Frontline too, so that shouldn't be a concern. Comb his neck, the base of his ears, and the base of his tail to check for any new ones since that seems to be their favorite place to congregate, and do the same for Ellie, but I think it will all be over very soon!
I'm not sure how boric acid works, and I'm not sure about it's safety either....that's why I suggested the D.E. I've heard BA works well, and since you've already used it, I wouldn't think you'd need to do anything else, but maybe have the D.E. on hand for next time (which we'll hope you never have to use anyway!!)---that way you'll be able to use something that isn't a chemical. |
Oh and the fleas aren't even half of it.

I have to have the crate ready at all times basically because this dog is so obseessed with getting to Ellie that she has been pawed at, jumped at, sniffed at, etc. In fact, when I am on the couch with Ellie, then dog comes and attacks (playing) and will "NOT" listen to "no". So I stand up and hold Ellie to keep her safe and the dog gets the couch. Then once she was on the couch and dove/flew across the room at Ellie. I have alpha rolled her 3 times but it doesn't really sink in much. She is a pup and very playful but it almost goes beyond that to not necessarily aggression but something that could turn that way quickly. She just will not listen. So that crate is ready to use at all times.

I guess I may not have a choice though. I have seen no fleas in the crate but that is my best guess. I so want this week to be over.

And she better not hurt Ellie or else..... Even when Ellie growls and snaps, she won't back down. I don't get it.
No fleas so far today though!
