My heart breaks for what you are going through with Tyson. How fortunate you are to be close to MSU, though. Sometimes the diagnosis of GME is so difficult and makes it even more traumatic for the family.

Although there is no marker for GME, it is believed to be genetic. Please contact your breeder and let her know Tyson's diagnosis so she can stop breeding his parents.
