That doesn't always work. Besides, you're using aggressive behavior. Even if you're just trying to establish yourself as the alpha dog - you can still do it in a nonaggressive manner. Teaching them and/or using basic commands and positive reinforcement will be better in the long run. Respect rather than fear.
