Extra vitamins and minerals aren't usually recommended if they are on a complete and balanced dog food. They may need to be supplemented with them for certain health issues though.
If your Yorkie has arthritis, glucosamine may help. Cosequin is a great product for this. In some cases, it will not work and the dog will need NSAIDs if they are in pain.
