 Back from the vet
It is so helpful to hear the experiences of other Yorkie owners.
The junior vet was not great. (Senior vet is a shorkie owner, but he was not in today.) She had never heard of empty stomachs causing vomiting. She was clueless and straight out of school, but here's what she said...and my comments in italics
-could be a virus (if it was a virus, wouldn't London throw up food too, not just bile?)
-administered some fluids for hydration just in case
-sent us home with Cerenium to prevent vomiting (I'm not worried about the vomit, I'm worried about the underlying cause of the vomit)
-sent us home with Metronizadole an antibiotic for her digestive track (I'm reluctant to give London an antibiotic she doesn't need if the real problem is feeding schedule)
-Also did mini-chem pre-op bloodwork today because London will be spayed in a couple weeks.
Geez, next time I will wait for the senior vet if it's not life threatening.
Also London's weight increased from 4lbs 6 oz a month ago to 6 lbs today! Vet says the new weight is healthy. I can't believe she gained so much weight so quickly. |
