Many people use baby shampoo because they think it's gentle. Some have no problems, but over time since human shampoo has a different pH, more acid, they are very drying to a dog's skin and hair, and you might not notice it until it's a serious problem. Remember, on the alkaline/acid scale too much away, in either direction, can burn you. Check and make sure there is no white flakey skin.
