Frustrated with cold-weather potty habits!!! My puppy is almost 6 months and up until our recent blizzard and -40 degree windchill days she was for the most part great at going to the door to go potty. In fact, she only would occasionally poop downstairs if we didn't see her at the door. And she almost NEVER peed in the house!
Now that it's so cold out she has no problem peeing wherever-and sometimes right in front of me. I'll go outside with her and she stands there and lifts her legs alternately cause her paws are so cold. Then she sits and that's it. I want to say, "hello! Go pee fast and we can go in!" But she barely squats and just sits there. I'm very frustrated because she was doing so well and now I hope that this doesn't reverse all the progress we've made.
I've thought of pee pads but paper is her favorite thing to destroy at the moment. If anything paper hits the ground it's in shreds in seconds.
Does anyone have advice, encouraging words, hints...This is going to be a very long winter and a lot of ruined carpet until this is resolved!
