 Calcium or not?
This is started from a thread last week...I think. Should you give a pregnant bitch calcium tablets towards the end of the pregnancy?
I've found out that you wait till the last week because calcium can actually induce labor and it should be continued while they are nursing.
Pre-Eclampsia/milk fever is a result from lack of calcium so it would make sense to offer suppliments. My vet even suggested this and so Gracie got calcium through her last pregnancy.
