I wasn't saying that a BAT shouldn't be done, only that the results on a puppy this young might be inconclusive.

The OP probably would be better off taking the puppy to a vet school if possible if a shunt is suspected. Other tests like scintigraphy might be needed for an accurate diagnosis.
