gosh, it does sound like alopecia. Was your pup born with "silver"? Or did he just have some on his head by the time you got him? They are not born with any silver on them. They look like little Rotties or Dobies when they are born. Black with tan/gold markings. IF you saw silver at birth then it was a "blue born" which would totally explain the hair loss.
