I have my dogs on grain-free kibble - it greatly reduces the liklihood of allergies. It might be something to think about.
At this point, I think I'd start with fish oil capsules; the Omega's are good for skin and hair. But please remember that results may take weeks and/or months to show up.
If I can make a suggestion ... there's a forum here on food and nutrition. There are some very knowledgeable people THERE that may not check out the grooming forum. They may be able to answer your questions much better than I can.
