Default Suggestions for finding a reputable breeder

I am new to the site & looking for a yorkie.

I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on finding a reputable breeder? Questions you might ask? It would be ideal to see the parents before purchasing, but if I am having the dog shipped, how would I be sure it is not coming from a puppy mill? I would obviously avoid the term "teacup" but is there anything else I should watch out for?

Where I'm from it seems there are lots of people who breed small dogs just to make some money. I would like to find a breeder who is breeding for the love of the breed & not just to make a quick buck. I'm looking for a dog that will have a good temperament & health.

On a side note, I would like to learn more about the history of the breed. Are there any websites you would suggest?
