Default I had to put Gizmo down yesterday

I decided to make the decision to put my little Gizmo down yesterday. I feel absoloutely terrible. I had admitted him at the vets on monday, and they were giving him drugs around the clock to reduce swelling to see if he would improve. He still had no use of his legs, and couldn't stand. They did x-rays on him to see if there was any injury to his spine, but found nothing.

The doctor said it was a neurological problem, probably something genetic. It came on so fast. One day, healthy and running around, the next day falling over. This could have dragged on for who knows how long, and there was no guarantee he would ever get better again. There is such an emptpy place in my heart. I went and saw him after he was euthanized to say goodbye. My daughter is going to pick up his body today. My poor husband was digging a grave for him at 6:00 a.m. before he went to work. Tonight we will bury him in the yard. My other Yorkie is wondering what the heck is going on, looking for him.

Thanks for listening to me.
