You definately have a choice.
It is your dog.
The only one you don't have a choice on is rabies.
Some kennels may refuse to board without lepto though.

A lot of thought should go into whether this is a necessary shot for your puppy.
It can be quite dangerous to Yorkies and has killed Yorkie puppies.
It doesn't protect against all strains and has to be given every 9-12 months.
At the same time, the disease is nothing you'd want to deal with either.
So, how big of a risk is lepto in your area?

Michigan is an area where lepto is thriving right now and my vet would have to give me a very, very good reason for me to consider using this vaccine at all on any dog. I most likely won't use it on a small dog again (Ellie had it once),

If I had to give it, I wouldn't do it before 16 weeks.
