He might never lift his legs. Meeko is now 14 months and still squats. I've never seen him lift. It's more of a learned behavior. If you take him out a lot, like to a pet door or dog park where other dogs will be, he might pick up up. I kind of wish he would lift his leg. The pee just falls and his paws get soaked with pee. It's such a pain to wash his paws a bunch of times per day. But then again, I've never had to worry about markings.
