Do you have a lot of experience with dogs? If not, I encourage you to read up, watch Animal Planet, surf the web, contact a trainer, etc. Knowledge is power!  If you haven't already, I recommend enrolling the two of you in a puppy class. A teacher will be able to answer a lot of your questions. |
What you say makes sense. I DO reach over her head to pick her up. I'll make a conscious effort not to do that anymore. Sometimes I'm in a rush and that is the quickest way to scoop her up!

I have had dogs in the past but don't have extensive experience with them. Yes knowledge is power and I already do spend waaay to much time surfing the internet about yorkies---you should see my "favorites" list! Now I have an excuse to continue. Thanks.
