When we got Callie before we let her run around the back yard not on a leash we spend days Callie proofing the back yard we put a thick chicken wire like stuff around the stairs so she couldnt climb un them around anything she could possible climb under to get under the deck and any spots in the fence that looked like she could get through it was a lot of work but I feel that its Callie proof in the back yard and that besides hawks and other birds of pray that she not going to get in to anything and get hurt.
