i would suggest using a bribe os some sort maybe a milk bone or maybe even a piece of jerky and when he is out and about show him you have a treat and say "come on lets go inside" and hold the treat out if he comes he gets the treat. if not no treat. you may need to get real close to show him and let him smell you have something good to eat and then he may follow you. sence you have only had him for a few weeks it could be he is still timid around you and still hasnt learned to trust you yet. i know with my two they will be out in the yard and i will say come on lets go back in and they get ready to bolt inside but until i smack my hand on my leg they will just sit there but as soon as i pat my thigh they go right in. i just started to use that signal with that command and it seems to work but i would definatly try some beef jerky or something. if nothing else that would help build some trust with him. |
