Yorkies are prone to dental problems and bad breath. When i first got Bridgette I thought I was going to pass out every time she got close to me.

I took her to the vet they gave me doggie mouth wash, she absolutely hates it. She panicks when I give it to her. She was already 3 years old when we got her and her teeth looked almost black, the vet said "wow she has nice teeth" i said "really??"

Anyway if you feed human food or soft canned dog food it can contribute to the problems. I feed only dry kibble. I mix it with canned about once a month as a treat. And she eats a lot of greenies and the tiny little beef flavored Dingo rawhide bones. Her tarter build up has reduced a lot and she does not have bad breath at all anymore.

I also brush her teeth every bath day, about once a week.

Make sure you are feeding dry kibble only, and any chewies help clear up tartar and bad breath. Nothing to be concerned about. Good luck!
