Just because a yorkie is AKC registerable does not mean he/she has been bred to standard. There are so many backyard breeders and puppymills that breed ANY yorkie with no regard whatsever to it's faults. That is why so many yorkies now do not look like the yorkies you see at a show. It doesn't necessarily make them an undesirable pet, but in my opinion it is a real shame that this breed is no longer looking as intended. |
