Mine is like this in some ways too...and he wants to know exactly how much I've spent/will be spending on a holiday or bday because he wants to do better...
I've told him 1000 times that I don't care who gets more "stuff" and I don't care if he doesn't want anything...the biggest part of Christmas for me is enjoying it with my family and taking the time to find thoughtful gifts that I know will mean a lot to each person I shop for...so it's important for ME to get everybody something that I care about. That's what I usually tell him when he says that...that it isn't about HIM...it's about me and I like buying things for people, giving gifts, and making people happy...so he needs to just suck it up and enjoy...
