Just a few thoughts:

- If you let him bark "until you can't take it anymore", he learns that barking works, as long as he keeps it up for a really long time.

- If you are trying to get him to sleep in a crate, try putting the crate somewhere where he can still see you, and maybe give him a treat that he only gets when he's in the crate. I've heard a sterilized bone stuffed with some cream cheese or peanut butter works wonders.

- For the biting, what I've heard is: when he "mouths" you, ie, play biting, squeal loudly, even if it didn't hurt, and turn your back for 5 seconds or so - essentially give him a time out. Eventually he learns that mouthing stops his fun time.
