I always used an xpen, or right now with the one I just got, I use a huge pen, and I put her bed in the back, her water in the middle and her pee pad in the front. I myself don't care for the crate training. I think they should be able to go potty when they have too. so, that should be fine! As she gets older, start moving the pee pad closer to the door that you're going to take her out at. I use pee pads for all 4 of mine, but, the new one will go in her cage and use the pad in there instead of using the other 2 pads I have set out
