Default 4 Year old Yorkie lost use of legs

This morning, my 4 year old Yorkie woke up and kept falling over. He kept trying to stand, but just couldn't get his legs and feet to work. I immedately took him to the vet. They are keeping him a couple of days, running tests, doing some x-ray's and put him on steroids to see it that helps. She said sometimes they recover.

She said I could take him to a dog neurologist ($6,000) up front and have a cat scan done. She thinks it's neurological, or something in his spinal colum. Whatever, his legs are not getting messages from his brain. She even tried to make his leg hurt, and it took a long time for him to feel pain.

I feel terrible, I don't have $6,000 for a neurologist, then he might have to have surgery after that, and there are no guarantees he will be ok.

All these scenario's are running through my head, does he have a tumor?

Thanks for listening, I needed to vent.
