I travel with Keoki all the time and we have taken a few plane flights. I ususally take up his water an hour before we leave and he sleeps the whole plane ride. I hold him before we enter the plane ( in the airport ) or go to a quiet place and let him walk a bit. He loves his Sherpa so he feels safe and just sleeps. I bring food and necessities but he does not eat while we are flying. Also remember if you are calm your baby will be calm- it's all in the energy. I think you are lucky you will be stopping in Atlanta because you will be able to take your baby out for a bit. Good luck!!! I know it will be easy
