If he is having surgery I am going to assume he is having plates/pins put in...my friend had that done with her yorkie that broke her leg and she was up wanting to play the next day
She kept her in a stroller for the 8 weeks. She said it was hard because they are not in a cast and they feel better. Be patient but with proper care your little yorkie will be fine.
