Exactly - I totally agree with you.
that is the reason I don't have a problem with it (other than thinking it looks stupid), is because while you can teach your kid to hold your hand, etc., it only takes a second for something to happen...
If someone is out just taking a walk, the leash is just unnecessary, and even sad. But in the middle of a Toys 'r' Us where no one thinks anything of a kid being carried out screaming? I understand it's usefulness.
