You need to get some steps so she can get up and down on your bed by herself. They have smaller steps for couches and chairs if she jumps up on them, too. Dogs with luxating patellas are very prone to ACL tears and those definitely need surgery.
I've been wanting to get the steps really badly for them because even Duke, who is a lot bigger, doesn't like getting off the bed, but the room we are in at my parents house right now is soo cramped. We barely have any room to walk, so there really isn't a sopt where the steps could fit in here. She just started jumping onto the couch but I only let her run around the house when I am watching her because I am too afraid of her being stepped on.

Do they have to be taught how to use the steps, or do they catch on to it right away? Neither of them have ever been around stairs.
