First, I want to say that I am not a breeder and by no means am I a yorkie expert. But I did have a situation similar to yours and I just wanted to tell you my experience. I brought my Bella home at 8 weeks and she was 2.2 lbs with cute little floppy ears. She has been SUPER healthy and she has perfect perky ears now at 7 months. She was already pee pee pad trained when I brought her home as well. She was very friendly and outgoing when I met her, but after she got all of her shots I continued to make sure that she was able to interact with lots of other pups and people. She has been great. I am definitely not saying that Bella's story is the norm, but everything has been great for me and my angel despite the fact that she came home at 8 weeks.

If you choose to bring your baby home early, I would definitely make sure that the baby has a good health record, strong teeth, and that he is able to eat well...but considering that he's already 2lbs he will probably be fine. I would also make sure that he has been away from his mother for an extended period because it could definitely be a problem if he is taken away from her right before he goes to you. Bella had been separated from her mother for approx. 3 weeks when I picked her up.

I hope this helps and good luck with your new baby.
