10-12 weeks is not only for their size it is reccomended for proper socialization,these things they learn from the mother and littermates.Ask the breeder is they wouldnt mind keeping the pup until at least the 10-12 week mark.
Ears up are not significant ,it in no way affects their health my pups ears never seem to go up until 12-14 weeks.
Write down a list of questions and bring them with you,check over the puppy ,the parents and their living conditions very carefully.
