Yeah, that's what my vet did...only I felt bad because I didn't realize that the antihistamine would involve a whole other shot! For some reason I thought she might mix it into one of the 2 vaccinations. I felt guilty when she stuck him with the first one and told me. "that was the antihistimine". So, he got 3 shots in the back end all together. I do think it helped though because he seems to have sprung back MUCH faster than the shot he got last time.
