I know I had posted previously stating Molly's poop was soft; somewhat resembling a Dairy Queen ice cream complete with the curl! Anyway, it's been about a week or so since I posted on this subject, and since then her poop has finally become both more formed and of a firmer consistency. In other words, a normal poop. Finally, thank God. I'm assuming that it was the combination of changing her from the food that the breeder had been feeding her- Diamond small puppy. The first poop she did upon arriving home that 1st evening was so bad I practically swooned! And, it wasn't even all evacuated yet from her bowels. I never smelled anything like it. It almost beat that horrendous smell that all moms know and fear: that sick sh*t smell when their child is sick and has diarrhea.
Anyway after reading various sites on the internet, I discovered that Diamond makes food for various stores and under various labels. Including Chicken Soup that others on here use. Not to start anything, but after reading about various recalls due to salmonella being tested in their foods, I for one would never use their food. They are also co-distributors for other companies as well. I found out about this after putting in "what is in dog food?" on Google. As I said, after reading that, I myself would never buy any Diamond product for Molly.
Now, hearing about the buying and selling of the majority of Old Mother Hubbard/Wellness stocks, I feel shocked (although I guess I shouldn't be in these economic times when anything can happen) , dismayed and worried if the quality of the food will change and as a result go down in quality. I guess only time will tell.
I hate the idea of having to go through a food change for my animals. I don't think that it's good switching them around if you really don't have to. As long as it's a good quality food and they're doing well on it, then of course leave well enough alone. I really believe that the old motto applies here: "If it ain't broke, then don't fix it." ~sigh~
