We had a horrible two months go-round with pesky brown dog ticks. It only takes one enlarged female to lay her 5,000+ eggs and you have a full blown problem. We've lived in this same house for over twenty years and never had any ticks before. Our theory is that we hired a new lawn service and because they do not wash their mowers between jobs they brought a bunch of ticks to our yard. We had to have our yard professionally sprayed in a two week interval. Plus I sprayed around in the house with a spray recommended by my vet. Then to top it all off we had to change from Advantix to a different medication for the dogs. I think they were immune to the Advantix. It was a nightmare. I was finding engorged ticks in my bed and we picked up many many tiny crawling juvenile ticks. We put them in rubbing alcohol to kill them. I think we have finally licked the problem.
