When I adopted Max (our sheltie) he was infested with Ticks!! to the point they were falling off a couple at a time because they were full!... all I did was try to remove every one myself...did the flea and tick shampoo...and afterwards went to the vet . Vet found one tick left inside his ear, removed it and put frontline and sent us on our way. Never even mentioned lyme disease. And he is a very healthy puppy now at a year and a few months. Oh and check yourself also for ticks... I found one on my scalp !
